PEI’s Canada Games women’s team of Amanda MacLean, Kassinda Bulger, Emily Gray, and Aleya Quilty, from the host Maple Leaf Curling Club, who had already won the A and B sections, beat Cornwall’s Veronica Smith team this morning by a 10-3 score, aided by a 5 point fourth end, to capture the C final, and become the Sylvan Learning 17 and Under women’s champions, without the need to play the two game championship round.

The Alex Matters team from the Charlottetown Curling Club edged the defending champion Matthew MacLean foursome 5-4 to win the Men’s C section. Matters also won the A, and will have the advantage going in to this afternoon’s two game championship round, as a win in either game will give Matters, and his Charlottetown Curling Club team of Chris Gallant, Kyle Holland, and Andrew Cameron the title, while the Jeffrey Taylor rink from Cornwall would have to win both of their games to take the championship.
The men’s and women’s 17 and Under champions will advance to the Sylvan Learning Atlantic 17 and Under. April 15-17 at the Charlottetown Curling Club.
