MacKenzie in driver’s seat at Tankard (Journal)

SUMMERSIDE – The Eddie MacKenzie rink has moved into the driver’s seat as four teams remain in contention for the 2011 Labatt Tankard provincial men’s curling championship here at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club.

MacKenzie stole a single point in the 10th end to cap an 8-7 come-from-behind victory over John Likely in the B section final Sunday afternoon to remain a perfect 6-0 (won-lost) in the triple-knockout format.

“We’re just taking it one game at a time,” said MacKenzie. “We won’t look too far ahead.”

Also still alive with two losses each are Likely, defending champion Rod MacDonald and Peter Gallant. All remaining teams curl out of the Charlottetown Curling Club (CCC).
