Jim Cotter, and his team of Ken Maskiewich at third, Kevin Folk at second and lead Rick Sawatsky won the British Columbia provincial title on Sunday, February 13 in Vernon, defeating Victoria’s Neil Dangerfield, 6-4 in the final.

Edmonton’s Kevin Martin will seek to become the first curler to win five Briers as a skip, when the Tim Hortons Brier gets underway March 5 in London.

Stoughton to make ninth Brier appearance in London

Defending champion Jeff Stoughton edged fellow Winnipegger Mike McEwen, 5-4 to successfully defend his Manitoba Safeway Championship February 13 in Beausejour.

 Howard to make record sixth consecutive Brier appearance as skip

Glenn Howard won his sixth straight Ontario title, defeating Toronto’s Greg Balsdon, 10-3 on Sunday, February 13 in the Dominion Tankard final at the Grimsby Peach King Centre.

Jacobs pulls off miracle to defend Northern Ontario title

Defending champion Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie shocked Joe Scharf’s Fort William Curling Club foursome on Sunday, February 13, winning the Dominion Men’s Northern Ontario Championship in Thunder Bay, 7-6 by stealing three in the 10th end. 

Koe three-peats in Northwest Territories/Yukon championship

Jamie Koe of Yellowknife once again has successfully defended his Northwest Territories/Yukon title February 13 in Yellowknife, clinching a berth in the Tim Hortons Brier in London.
