(The Guardian) Nova Scotia teams curled to victory in both the men and women’s divisions at the Maritime masters curling championships, which wrapped up Wednesday at the Charlottetown Curling Club.
P.E.I. clubs were runners-up in each division.
The Nova Scotia Two team from New Glasgow finished atop the men’s division, while the Nova Scotia One team from Halifax Mayflower club won the women’s title.
Haylett Clarke skipped his New Glasgow team to a 5-0 record after round-robin play, while Sue Green won the women’s title with a 4-1 mark.
Each Maritime province had two teams in the event, which started Monday.
Mel Bernard’s Silver Fox team from Summerside was the men’s runner-up with a 4-1 record.
He was joined by Ted MacFadyen, Lou Nowlan and Earle Power.
Carol Sweetapple’s team from Cornwall was the women’s runner-up with a 3-2 record.
