Rockin’ at the HeartStop Lounge (Guardian)

(by Doug Gallant)

Curling fans in need of a break from the action at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts won’t have to go far.

Just across the hall from the Charlottetown Civic Centre lies the Charlottetown Trade Centre, which, for the next 10 days, will be transformed, into the largest live music venue in the city, the HeartStop Lounge.

A popular component of this national event, which has come to be known simply as the Scotties, the HeartStop Lounge plays host each year to local, regional and national artists from across the country.

In P.E.I. the entertainment line-up includes local acts like Fiddlers Sons, Vintage 4.0 and Tim Chaisson and Morning Fold, regional acts like Signal Hill and Shaydid, popular Alberta band The Chevelles and one of the most successful Canadian bands ever to emerge from Atlantic Canada, Rawlins Cross.
