Canada Games: PEI has 7 point end in crossover game win over Yukon

PEI’s Tyler Smith rink didn’t make the playoffs at the Canada Games, after finishing round robin play with a 1-4 record, but they did end on a winning note, beating the Yukon 7-1 on Friday in their crossover game against the team in the other pool finishing with the same standing.  The Island rink, which includes Parker O’Connor, who throws skip rocks, third Shawn Pitre, second Noah O’Connor, and Smith, who skips the game but throws first, trailed 1-0 after six ends in a blank-end filled game, but got the job done by scoring all seven points in the seventh end.

The semi-finals go at 10 this morning, with New Brunswick facing Ontario, and Manitoba taking on Saskatchewan. The bronze medal game is at 2:30 this afternoon, with the final at 7:30.
