Flashback: 10 years ago – Suzanne Gaudet rink returns from World Juniors

Suzanne Gaudet

From our archives, here are some photos from a decade ago, when the rink of Suzanne Gaudet, Stefanie Richard, Robyn MacPhee, Kelly Higgins, alternate Carol Webb and coach Paul Power were greeted at the Charlottown airport after winning the World Junior curling championships, March 21-25 2001 in Ogden Utah.

The men’s team that year was the Newfoundland and Labrador rink skipped by Brad Gushue, along with Mark Nichols, Brent Hamilton, Mike Adam and alternate Jamie Korab. A decade later, both Gushue and Gaudet (now Birt) are still representing their provinces, now at the Brier and the Scotties.
