J. Jones looking for 2nd Canada Cup win (CCA)

(CCA) Jennifer Jones stepped on the ice for the championship game at last year’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown with visions of joining Nova Scotia’s Colleen Jones as the only skips to win four consecutive titles.

The final played out to a last-rock showdown with Amber Holland stealing the decisive point, laying claim to Saskatchewan’s first Scotties since Sandra Schmirler’s victory in 1997.

Still, the eight-time Scotties veteran had a highly successful season – including three first-place showings on the World Curling Tour – and moved to the top of the Canadian Team Ranking System. The standing qualified the Winnipeg team for one of the seven women’s spots in the 2011 Capital One Canada Cup… an event she won in 2007.

Jones will come to the Cranbrook Rec Plex, November 30 – December 4 with a bit of a new look as Joelle Sabourin fills in at second for Jill Officer, who is expecting her first child. Kaitlyn Lawes returns at third along with Dawn Askin throwing lead stones.
