Although she’s living, working and curling in Calgary this year, Summerside’s Geri-Lynn Ramsay makes it clear she wants to finish off the curling season in her native province.
No, she has no immediate plans to move back to P.E.I.; she’s hoping the Crystal Webster team, on which she throws second stone, will be one of eight women’s teams coming to Summerside for the April 10 to 15 GP Car and Home Players Championship.
They are in the running, sitting in sixth place in the Canadian Team Ranking System’s points race.
Their fortunes soared two weeks ago when they won the Colonial Square Ladies Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Sask., pocketing $10,000 and racking up 25.620 crucial CTRS points.
For now, Ramsay said, they’re banking their winnings in hopes of qualifying for the Players Championship.
