The PEI rink of Brett Gallant, Erin Carmody, Anson Carmody, and Michelle Mackie beat the Sean Grassie rink from Manitoba 8-6 in the opening draw of the Canadian Mixed today in Sudbury. Other games saw New Brunswick’s Sylvie Robichaud team beat BC’s Doug Marshall foursome 7-3, Ontario’s Mark Homan beat the NWT team 9-6, Northern Ont. (Mike Assad) scoring six points in the seventh end to down Nunavut 14-3, and Quebec’s Martin Ferland beating the Yukon team 9-3.
PEI takes on Ontario’s Homan rink at 3:30 pm AT, and Alberta, skipped by Kurt Balderston, at 8 pm.
