Dacey and Smith-Dacey win Molson Mayflower Cashspiel, PEI’s Clarey rink quarter-finalists

The Mark Dacey rink doubled the Marc Lecocq foursome 6-3 to win the men’s section, while Mark’s wife, Heather Smith-Dacey and her team beat the Colleen Pinkney squad 7-3 in the women’s division in this afternoon’s finals of the Molson Mayflower Cashspiel at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax. Playing with Dacey were third Tom Sullivan, second Andrew Gibson and lead Josh McInnis, while Danielle Parsons, Bliss Comstock, and Teri Lake round out the Smith-Dacey foursome.

In the semis, Dacey beat Terry Odishaw 4-1, Lecocq won 8-3 over Doug MacKenzie, Smith-Dacey downed Mary-Anne Arsenault 9-2, and Pinkney doubled Colleen Jones 6-3.

PEI’s Donald Clarey rink lost 8-2 to the MacKenzie team in this morning’s quarter-final round. The Island foursome, who will be participating in The Dominion Curling Club Championships in Richmond BC Nov. 21-26, finished round robin play  with a 3-1 win-loss record to advance to the money round. PEI’s Kim Dolan rink went 2-2 in the women’s section, and did not advance to the 12:30 pm semi-finals.
