It has now been determined that Team Canada has qualified for the playoff round at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck Austria. The other qualifers in their pool are Sweden and Japan, while Italy and Russia will battle each other in the final round robin draw for the last playoff spot in that pool. Three qualifiers in the other pool – USA, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic, have been determined, with one spot left to fill, with China (3-3), Norway and New Zealand (both 2-4) in contention.
