INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA — The Winter Youth Olympic Games competition has ended for the Maple Leaf Curling Club’s Emily Gray.

P.E.I. curler Emily Gray of O’Leary plays lead with the Canadian Winter Youth Olympics Curling team, skipped by Thomas Scoffin. The team also includes Derek Oryniak and
Gray and her Estonian teammate, Robert-Kent Paell, lost their first game in the mixed doubles curling competition 8-2 to the Russia/Japan team of Anastasia Moskaleva and Tsukasa Horigome on Friday afternoon.
Although they scored in only the fourth end, it was a stolen triple in the third end that proved to be the back-breaker.
The mixed doubles event is a single elimination competition.
The mixed doubles follows the mixed team competition, which ended Wednesday with Gray and her Canadian team winning Winter Youth Olympic bronze.
