Gushue loses A qualifer in extra to McEwen at Stu Sells Toronto Tankard

The Brad Gushue rink, which includes PEI natives Adam Casey and Brett Gallant, fought back from a 4-1 deficit after 2 ends to tie up their A qualifer game at the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard cashspiel 6-6 after 8 ends of play, and force an extra end. Their opponents, Mike McEwen and his team, had to draw to the four foot with their final stone, and ended up outcounting a Gushue stone by about an inch, to win 7-6. The other A qualifier out of the triple knockout was the Rob Rumfeldt team out of Guelph, who beat the Martin Ferland team from Quebec 4-3 this afternoon.

Gushue now moves down to the B section, and gets another game tonight – at 11 Atlantic against the Bowie Abbis-Mills rink from Ontario, while McEwen advances to the quarter-finals, and will play either Sunday at 11 pm  or Monday at 10:30 am Atlantic.
