Nova Scotia and Yukon Open With Victories at Canadian Mixed “pre-qualifying” round (CCA)

(CCA) Nova Scotia and Yukon opened with wins in the first round of the pre-qualifying round for the 2013 Canadian Mixed held at the Town of Mount Royal CC in Mont-Royal (Montreal), Quebec.

Nova Scotia’s Brent MacDougall’s foursome curled 84% in a 12-3 win over Nunavut’s Ed Sattelberger while Yukon’s Steve Fecteau overcame a 4-1 deficit with eight unanswered points and a 9-4 win over Newfoundland & Labrador’s Kenny Young.

Both games were conceded after 8 ends.

Nova Scotia will face the Yukon tonight (Nov. 15) at 8:00pm Atlantic in a match-up that will determine the first qualifier to the full round robin of this Canadian Mixed which begins Saturday, November 17th at 7:30pm AT.

NL and Nunavut will also play tonight in a sudden death match. The winner of this game will meet the loser of NS vs YT game on Friday while the loser will be eliminated.
