The semi-finals go at 9 this morning, with the finals following at 1 pm in the 6th annual Fall Fling Junior Cashspiel at the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club in Summerside.
In the semis, Jenny McLean of Summerside plays the Lindsey Doucet team from CFB Halifax, which includes Summerside area native Anita Casey at third, while Veronica Smith of Cornwall faces Mary Myketyon-Driscoll of Truro. All four teams finished round robin play with 4-1 win-loss records. The Amanda MacLean rink from Cornwall was 4-0 going into the final round robin draw, but lost their game, and lost out in the team draw to the button competition for total points to determine placings for the semi.
On the men’s side, Chris Gallant and his Charlottetown rink went through the round robin with a 5-0 record, and play Cody Dixon of Montague (3-2) in one game, while Jonathan Crouse and his Truro Curling Club rink, who are also unbeaten at 5-0, plays Tyler Smith (4-1) from Cornwall.
The winning teams in the event will go home with $600, with $300 going to the runners-up, and $125 to the remaining semi-finalists.
