Eddie MacKenzie rink 0-2 at Challenge Casino de Charlevoix

The rink of Eddie MacKenzie, Anson Carmody, Christian Tolusso, and Alex MacFadyen are the lone PEI entry in the 19 team field, and three of the team members are the defending champions, as last year’s winning team was skipped by Brett Gallant, who has now joined Brad Gushue’s St. John’s team, along with MacKenzie at third, and Carmody and MacFadyen on the front end. The Gushue rink are not in this event.

The MacKenzie foursome lost their opener this morning to the Steve Laycock team from Saskatoon by a 7-4 score, and their second game 8-4 to the Serge Reid rink from Saguenay Quebec. This means that the PEI team are now one loss away from elimination in the “C” event of the triple knockout. They play the Pierre Gervais rink from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec at 9 am Atlantic on Friday.
