Webster wins over Carey to improve to 1-1, Gushue loses Canada Cup opener, faces Martin at 9 pm (CCA)

The Brad Gushue rink, which includes PEI natives Adam Casey and  Brett Gallant, lost their opener 8-2 to Winnipeg’s Mike McEwen team in Draw Two of the Canada Cup in Moose Jaw. The game was tied after 5, but McEwen took three, two, and one points in the next three ends to grab a big lead. Team Gushue faces the Kevin Martin foursome at 9 pm Atlantic.

Meanwhile, Calgary’s Crystal Webster rink, which includes PEI’s Erin Carmody and Geri-Lynn Ramsay, won their draw 2 match 7-4 over Chelsea Carey and her Winnipeg rink. Webster got off to a flying start, leading 4-0 after 3 ends. Webster’s next game is in  the morning, against Cathy Overton-Clapham.
