Kevin Martin out of this week’s Canadian Open due to surgery (Sportsnet)

Kevin Martin will not compete in the Canadian Open, a Grand Slam of Curling event starting on Dec. 12 in Kelowna, BC.

Kevin Martin is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday for a hernia and is expected to be out for four weeks.

John Morris will skip for Team Martin, which opens the tournament against Team de Cruz on Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. AT.
