The men’s final was this afternoon, with James Grattan and his Gage Golf and Curling Club rink scoring two points in the final end for a 7-6 win over their clubmates, the Zach Eldridge foursome to win the New Brunswick championship. Grattan’s last provincial win was two years ago. Other members of the Grattan team are third Jason Roach, second Darren Roach, and lead Peter Case. The team is coached by Summerside PEI native and former Grattan front-end player Daryell Nowlan.

The Grattan foursome will now advance to the Tim Hortons Brier, March 2-10 in Edmonton Alberta.

It will be  “Jimmy The Kid” Grattan’s tenth Brier. He started out skipping his own team, and later played third for Russ Howard  when Russ moved to Moncton. He has had two third place finishes for New Brunswick, who, like PEI, has never won a Brier.
