Nola Murphy advances to PEI Senior Women’s final. This evening’s semi-finals postponed due to weather

Tonight’s men’s and women’s semi-finals at the Credit Unions of PEI Provincial Seniors Curling Championships at the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club in Summerside have been postponed until Monday. It is planned to hold both the semi-finals and the finals on Monday. Draw times have not yet been announced.

The Nola Murphy rink from the host club stole deuces in three consecutive ends this afternoon in the Page A vs B game to hand Montague’s Jennifer Scott foursome their 1st loss in the event, by a 10-2 score, and advance to Monday’s  final.

Scott will now play in the semi-final,  against the Page C vs D winner, defending champion Shirley Berry and her Cornwall/Silver Fox team. Berry stole a triple in the eighth end to win 9-3 against Montague’s Kathy Clarey this afternoon.

The men’s semi-final  sees Blair Jay of the host club take on Bill Hope and his combined Cornwall/Silver Fox rink. The winner faces unbeaten Rod MacDonald and his Charlottetown/Silver Fox team in the final.

The winning men’s and women’s rinks will advance to the Canadian Seniors, also at the Silver Fox, March 16-24.
