The defending champion Allan Inman men’s rink from the Crapaud Community Curling Club, and the Sharon Horne women’s team from the host Western Community Curling Club both remain undefeated, with 3-0 win-loss records, following day two action at the provincial The Dominion Curling Club Championship in Alberton.
Inman downed Cornwall’s Paul Neima rink 12-1, and beat Western’s Mike Trudeau team 5-3 today, while Horne beat Crapaud’s Vanessa Hamming team 8-2, and followed a four point seventh end with a stolen deuce in the eighth to beat former champion Lorianne Davies from Cornwall 10-4. Davies, and Montague’s Tracy Yorston-Campbell are 2-1 on the women’s side, with Summerside’s Blair Jay rink and Charlottetown’s Allan Brown team 2-1 in the men’s division.
Round robin play wraps up on Saturday with men’s draws at 9:30 am and 2:30 pm and women’s games at noon and 5:30. Tiebreakers, if required, go Saturday at 8 pm and, if needed, Sunday at 9:30 am. The second vs third place semi-finals go Sunday at 1:30 pm, with the winners facing the first place teams in the 5:30 pm championship games.
