Smith rink are Bronze Medallists at the Atlantic U18

The Tyler Smith rink from the Montague and Crapaud Community curling clubs took home the bronze medal at the Atlantic Under 18 Curling Championships over the weekend in Stephenville NL, finishing weekend play with a 3 and 2 win-loss record. In the picture

saw the PEI team winning 7-4 over Newfoundland and Labrador’s Evan Keerly rink.

The Nova Scotia team skipped by Matthew Manuel won the men’s championship over New Brunswick skip and former Islander Kyle Hughes by a 9-1 score.

In the women’s division, PEI’s Emily Keen rink  fiinished fourth after losing the bronze medal game 10-1 to the host team, skipped by Lauren Newell.
The championship was won by the Mary Fay team, who blanked New Brunswick’s Justine Comeau rink 6-0 in the  final.
