Halifax Mayflower Curling Club manager dies in scuba diving incident (MetroNews)

(by Ruth Davenport)

The man who died in a scuba-diving mishap was a well-known member of the local curling community described as “intrinsic” to one of the province’s premier rinks.

Dave Jones, 58, passed away after being pulled out of the water by a relative on Prospect Road around 6:15 p.m. Sunday.

The president of the Mayflower Curling Club said Jones had managed the club for 20 years, and his death hit the 500 members like a “bolt out of the blue.”
