Jacobs repeats as Stu Sells Oakville Men’s winner, Gushue out in semis, Middaugh wins Women’s in extra

The Stu Sells Oakville World Curling Tour cashspiel wrapped up today at the Oakville Ont. curling club, with both finals decided by a single point.

Brad Jacobs of Ontario edged Calgary’s Kevin Koe 4-3 in the men’s final, while Sherry Middaugh stole a single in the extra end to get by fellow Ontarian Cathy Auld 5-4 in the women’s championship game. Jacobs, and Middaugh, who also won in 2011,  pick up $8,000 and $5,000 for their respective wins. Koe receives $4,500, while Auld collects $3,500 for their runner-up finishes.

35 men’s and 25 women’s teams took part in the Oakville event.
