Team Gushue advances to Canada vs Russia final at Red Square Classic in Moscow

The Brad Gushue rink, which includes PEI natives Brett Gallant and Adam Casey, came from behind to win this morning’s six-end semi-final game at the Red Square Curling Classic on Moscow’s Red Square, by a 5-4 score over Team Russia, Moscow, Kirikov and will advance to the championship game. Things weren’t looking good for the Canadians in this morning’s match, when the Russians took singles in the first three ends on the difficult outside ice surface. Gushue took a single in the fourth, and stole four points in the fifth to pull ahead, and held the Russian squad to a single point in the sixth.

Peter DeCruz of Switzerland lost his semi-final, 9-3 to Team Russia, Adamant club, Tselousov, so it will be a Canada/Russia final, starting at 7 am Atlantic time, with DeCruz and the other Russian team playing in the bronze medal game at the same time.
