PEI Tankard Opening Ceremonies held

The PEI Tankard Provincial Men’s Curling Championships were officially opened this evening, with the teams being piped onto the ice at the Montague Curling Rink..

George Koke – Curl PEI President, and past president of the Montague rink was Master of Ceremonies for the openng ceremonies.

Dignitaries on hand included:

Hon. Allan Roach, Minisiter and MLA for District 3: Montague – Kilmuir

Richard Collins, Mayor of Montague

Scott Annear, President Montague Curling Rink

The ceremonial first rock was thrown by Nathanial Shaw.

Samuel Shaw swept the rock, while the Tankard teams cheered him on.

The 10 team championship continues through Sunday evening.
