The schedule and team rosters have now been made available for the Curl Atlantic Championship, which returns to the CARI Complex MacLauchlan Arena ice at UPEI in Charlottetown, Sept. 11-14. Eight men’s and eight women’s teams are competing, plus five junior men’s and an equal number of junior women’s Canada Games teams. All games are eight ends. Following practices, first Canada Games teams draw is at 11 am Thursday, with the women’s opening draw at 4 pm and the men’s at 9 pm. Defending champions are the Heather Smith and Peter Burgess rinks from Nova Scotia. Smith is back this year.

The winning teams in the Curl Atlantic Championship will pocket $3000, with the runners-up receiving $2000, and the third place teams will go home with $1000. The men’s and women’s teams are divided into two pools of four teams
Also competing at the event, in another division, will be teams from all four Atlantic provinces, who are gearing up to compete at the 2015 Canada Winter Games, including the two men’s and two women’s training teams from PEI. A wheelchair and vision-impaired curling demonstration is also scheduled during the final draw.
