PEI’s Adam Casey rink, and Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue foursome, which includes PEI native Brett Gallant, are among the 24 men’s and 12 women’s teams competing in the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Curling Classic in Brockville Ont. this weekend. Island native Kiri Campbell is on the Danielle Inglis rink out of Ottawa. Gushue won the men’s event in 2009, while last year’s champs were Brad Jacobs, who is back this year, and Mirjam Ott.

Play got underway at 5 AT this afternoon, with Gushue taking on Jeff Stoughton, and Casey facing Glenn Howard at 7:30. The quarter-finals go Sunday at 10 am AT, with the semis at 1:30 pm, and the finals at 4:30 pm Atlantic time.
