PEI curling teams for 2015 Canada Games to be determined this weekend at the Silver Fox

A best of three competition this weekend at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside will decide PEI’s men’s and women’s teams for the 2015 Canada Winter Games which take place February 13—March 1, 2015 in Prince George BC.

A Curl PEI Canada Winter Games (CWG) Trial was held in Feb. 2014 to qualify two men’s and two women’s teams to be named the Curl PEI 2015 CWG Training Teams.   The men’s training teams are the Alex MacFadyen rink from the Silver Fox, along with the Montague team skipped by Tyler Smith, who skipped Team PEI Men at the 2011 Games. The women’s training teams are Kaleigh MacKay and her Montague/Crapaud team, and Lauren Moerike and her Charlottetown Curling Complex rink.

The men’s and women’s Training Teams will square off in separate best of three (3) competitions, Saturday Nov. 29 at 10am and 3pm and Sunday Nov. 30 at 1pm. As this is a best two out of three competition, the third game in either division will not be required in the event a team wins the first two.
