Team PEI Men, skipped by Tyler Smith, picked up their first win at the 2015 Canada Games this afternoon, beating the Yukon team by an 11-4 score in 8 ends. The teams traded deuces in the first two ends, with PEI taking four points in the third end. A single in end five and a stolen triple in six gave them a 10-0 lead. The Yukon team scored a deuce in seven, but PEI took a single in the eighth and it was handshake time, with PEI improving to a 1-2 win-loss record.
PEI is back on the ice now, against New Brunswick, with the teams tied 3-3 at the 5th end break. The Island squad’s final round robin game is at 1 pm Wednesday, against BC.
