O’LEARY – The defending boys’ champion Donald DeWolfe rink from Cornwall split its games during Friday’s opening day of the Curl P.E.I. provincial under-16 championships here at the Maple Leaf Curling Club.
The Lauren Moerike rink from Charlottetown and Cornwall jumped out to a 7-0 lead after four ends on their way to a 9-4 win over Maria Doyle from the Silver Fox in the afternoon draw.In evening action, Kristie Rogers and her Cornwall rink stole six points in ends two through four to go up 7-0 on the Sierra Clyke team from Crapaud, and cruised to a 10-2 victory.
There are draws Saturday at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
