Casey wins second straight (Journal)

CALGARY – The Adam Casey rink is proving the P.E.I. representative can play with the best teams in Canada.

Adam Casey yells instructions to his sweepers during the final game of the 2015 P.E.I. Tankard provincial men’s curling championship in Alberton on Tuesday afternoon. Casey pulled out a 7-6 extra-end win.

Casey, third stone Josh Barry, second stone Anson Carmody and lead Robbie Doherty held on for a 6-5 win over British Columbia’s Jim Cotter in Sunday night’s late draw to improve to 2-1 (won-lost) at the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier. Cotter is 1-2.

Casey led 6-3 after eight ends, before Cotter counted singles in the ninth and 10th ends.

P.E.I.’s lone game Monday is against Quebec’s Jean-Michel Menard (1-2) at 4:30 p.m., Atlantic Time.
