Hurricanes split opening games (Guardian)

The Holland College Hurricanes scored a 7-6 extra-end win Wednesday to even their record after two games at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association women’s curling championship.

The Hurricanes lost 12-11 in the opening game against the host Olds College in Alberta, but responded by beating Humber College in their final game of opening day.

The Hurricanes, who curled out of the Cornwall Curling Club this season, play three times Thursday, including games with MacEwan at 11:30 a.m., Augustana at 7:30 p.m. and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology at 11:30 p.m. All times are Atlantic.
