The Canadian Masters Curling Championship wrapped up on the weekend at the Whitehorse Curling Club, with Team British Columbia (Women), skipped by Karen Lepine, and Team Manitoba (Men), skipped by Ron Wescott, winning the event.
Silver medals went to Ontario women (Diana Favel), and Northern Ont. men (Gordon Williams), while the bronze went to Alberta women (Linda Wagner) and Nova Scotia men (Steve Ogden).
Here’s the championship round semi-finals and finals draw tree:
The PEI women’s entry, the Shirley Berry team from Cornwall and Charlottetown, finished round robin play with a 3-2 win-loss record in their pool, behind Ontario and BC, both at 4-1. They then advanced to the playoff round, finishing play with a 5-4 overall win-loss record, tied with NS and QC, and one win short of making the semis. No PEI men’s team entered the event.
Nova Scotia has been selected as the venue for the 2016 championship.
