Geri-Lynn Ramsay is skipping her own Calgary team this year, and picked up a 6-5 extra-end win in the triple-knockout event, over Michele Jaegi of Switzerland in her opener, taking a deuce in the 8th end to tie the game, and stealing a single in the extra.  Erin Carmody is playing third stone on the Jessie Kaufman rink out of Edmonton, who lost their opener 9-2 to Canadian champ and world silver medallist Rachel Homan.

The final goes Monday at 6:30 pm Atlantic. Defending champ Jennifer Jones is back this year and won her opener 8-2.
