Western Community Curling Club team ready for the Travelers Curling Club Ch’ship (Journal)

ALBERTON – When the Western Community Curling Club’s Freddy Fraser rink slides onto the ice at Ottawa’s Hunt and Golf Club on Monday for the opening draw of the national Travelers curling club championship, they will have a little bit of event familiarity on their side.

While none of the team members have played in the national championship for club curlers before, partners of two of the players were members of Team P.E.I.’s women’s team last year in Thunder Bay, Ont.This is the first time in the seven-year history of the national championship that Alberton has sent a men’s team to the event.
