The men’s and women’s lineups have been announced for the 2015 Meridian Canadian Open Grand Slam of Curling event, Dec. 8-13 in Yorkton Sask. The Adam Casey rink from PEI, and the defending champion Brad Gushue foursome from St. John’s NL, which includes PEI native Brett Gallant, are among the men’s division entrants.
The Canadian Open is the fourth stop on the expanded seven-event Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling series. In last year’s event, Gushue defeated Saskatoon’s Steve Laycock 6-5 in the men’s final to capture his second Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling title of the season. Scotland’s Eve Muirhead beat Ottawa’s Rachel Homan 5-3 to capture the inaugural Canadian Open women’s title.
