Tyler Harris and his Charlottetown/Montague rink, aided by a pair of four point ends, beat Charlottetown’s Eddie MacKenzie foursome 10-4 in eight ends, while Tyler Smith, playing in his first Tankard with his Crapaud/Montague team fought back from a 6-0 deficit after five ends against Charlottetown Tankard veteran Robert Campbell to score a deuce in the sixth and steal the next four ends to tie the game at 6-6 and force an extra end. Campbell scored one in the extra for the win.

The opening ceremonies go at 6:15 pm, with the next draw at 7 pm. In that draw, Harris takes on Jamie Newson, while Campbell faces defending champ Adam Casey.

The opening game of the three game Future Tankard U21 developmental series between brothers Devin and Mitchell Schut was originally scheduled to be in the draw, but has now been moved to 1 pm Saturday.
