Dolan grabs lead in provincial senior curling ch’ships (Journal)

O’LEARY – Kim Dolan and her Charlottetown Curling Complex team is the only undefeated team in the women’s event at the P.E.I. Credit Unions provincial senior curling championships.

Credit Unions provincial senior curling championships, which got underway at the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary on Friday afternoon. The Gallant foursome fell behind 6-0 after three ends, but Kathy Clarey ended up squeezing out an 8-7 win.

The four-team women’s event and six-team men’s championship are being played at the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary. The modified triple-knockout championships got underway Friday afternoon.

In men’s play, the Rod MacDonald rink from Silver Fox and Charlottetown will play Blair Weeks from Charlottetown in the A event final Saturday at 10 a.m. Two members of the MacDonald foursome and two members of the Weeks foursome comprised last year’s men’s championship rink.

The competition continues with draws at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. on Saturday, and draws on Sunday at 11 a.m., and 3 p.m.
