Ontario beats P.E.I. at Scotties (Journal)

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. – A steal of three by Ontario’s Jenn Hanna team proved to be the difference on Thursday afternoon.

 Hanna stole three in the fifth end to open up a 6-1 lead over P.E.I.’s Suzanne Birt rink, and never looked back en route to an important 8-5 win at the 2016 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
The Birt rink are back on the ice in Thursday’s late draw (9:30 AT) against Manitoba’s Kerri Einarson (5-4).

The Birt rink will conclude round-robin play at the Canadian women’s curling championship against Quebec’s Marie-France Larouche (4-6) on Friday morning. The top four teams advance to the Page playoffs.
