Renowned golf journalist Bob Weeks can trace his introduction to the sport to the Strathgartney Highlands Golf Course.  Weeks was visiting family on the Island when a ferry strike left his father looking for something to do with his 11-year-old son.The answer was a round of golf. Weeks soon learned the ins and outs of the sport and has made a living covering it.
The Canadian Golf Hall of Fame’s Class of 2016 was announced on Tuesday and includes Weeks, Charlottetown’s Lorie Kane and two-time Canadian men’s amateur champion Warren Sye of London, Ont.
Weeks has strong family roots to the Island, dating back five generations. His great grandfather was a founding member of the Charlottetown Golf Club, which became the Belvedere club.
It is shaping up to be quite the week for Weeks as he is being inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame tonight.
