There was always one thing Geri-Lynn Ramsay could count on throughout her curling career.
Every year, she’d compete at the provincial curling championships, whether that was in Prince Edward Island or Alberta.

In her first year as a skip, though, Ramsay found herself missing out on the chance to compete at the 2016 Alberta Scotties.
It wasn’t a great feeling, and she made sure it didn’t happen again in 2017 this weekend when Ramsay and her team – which consists of third Jody McNabb, second Brittany Tran and lead Claire Tully – strolled through the A qualifier at Southerns in Airdire.
“(Last year) was my first year as a skip, we had a brand new team,” Ramsay said. “I’m really excited to go back to provincials, missing out last year for the first time in my curling career … I’m thrilled to be back.”
While Ramsay’s team probably wouldn’t have been considered to be among the favourites to win the Alberta Scotties a week ago, their performance at Southerns should leave the foursome feeling optimistic.
