Tankard and Scotties “A” Finals go today at the Silver Fox

There are two draws, at 10 am and 3 pm, today at the Tankard provincial men’s and Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincial women’s curling championships at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Community Complex, with the men’s and women’s “A” finals in their respective modified triple knockout draws going at 3. The “A” section winners earn a berth in the two game championship round, and also drop down to compete in the “B” section.

The Tankard A event semi-finals between the undefeated teams are on at 10, with Jamie Newson playing Eddie MacKenzie and the host club’s Blair Jay facing Phil Gorveatt. The winners face off in the A final at 3. In the B event, where teams have had one loss, Calvin Smith plays Dennis Watts and Tyler Harris faces Robert Campbell at 10, with the winners advancing to games at 3 pm, and losers dropping down to the last chance “C” event.

The Scotties “A” Final goes at 3, with Robyn MacPhee taking on Lisa Jackson.

In the B event, Montague’s Tammy Dewar plays Veronica Smith at 3.
