O’LEARY – The defending champion Ted MacFadyen rink will meet the Bill Hope foursome Saturday morning in the “A” final of the 2017 P.E.I. Men’s Masters Curling Championship.

MacFadyen and his Silver Fox rink opened play in the modified triple knock-out championship Friday morning with a 5-2 win over the Clair Sweet rink from the host Maple Leaf Curling Club and followed it up with an 8-4 win over Summerside club-mate Dale Cannon who had a first round bye in the seven-team event.
Hope’s Charlottetown/Cornwall rink kept pace with an 8-0 win over Dario Zannier, Crapaud/Silver Fox and a 7-2 victory over the Silver Fox’s Louis Walsh foursome.
Other games in Saturday’s 9:30 a.m. draw have Sweet (0-1) playing Walsh (1-1) and Cannon (0-1) facing Zannier (1-1). The other team in the competition is Cornwall’s Paul Arsenault rink who suffered Friday losses of 7-1 to Walsh and 8-5 to Zannier. The Arsenault rink has a morning bye.
There are also draws Saturday at 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
