Big day for PEI at Scotties: MacPhee rink wins both games Tuesday (Journal)

ST. CATHARINES, ONT. – It was a bounce-back day for Team P.E.I. at the 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Tuesday.

The Robyn MacPhee rink, coached by Les Rogers, won both games to improve its record to 2-4 (won-lost) at the Canadian women’s curling championship.
MacPhee stole seven points en route to a 9-4 win over Nova Scotia’s Mary Mattatall in the morning draw.
Team P.E.I., which curls out of the Charlottetown Curling Complex, then prevailed in a back-and-forth game against British Columbia’s Marla Mallett 8-7 on the final shot of the afternoon contest by MacPhee. Mallett dropped to 0-6 with the loss.
The Islanders will take on Manitoba’s Michelle Englot and Northern Ontario’s Krista McCarville (3-2) after having a bye Tuesday night.
