Passing of former PEI Junior Champ Wyman Millar

Wyman Millar of Summerside, who played second stone on the 1951-52 provincial junior (schoolboys) team skipped by Alex Campbell, with Derwyn Huestis at third and lead Clive MacDonald, passed away on Wednesday. Wyman’s wife Beverly is a member of the PEI Curling Hall of Fame, inducted in 2013.

The death occurred peacefully, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, of Wyman Millar, of Summerside, aged 84 years. Born in Ellerslie, he was the son of the late Alton and Edna (Hutchinson) Millar. Survived by his wife Beverley “Bev” (Birch) Millar; his children Pamela Millar (Steve Chappell); Susan Millar; and Andrew (Angela) Millar; grandchildren Gillian  Arsenault; and Joshua and Ryan Millar; sister Audrey Philp; sisters-in-law Doris MacKendrick; Bertha (David) Fram; Marnie (Harold) Noye; Anne Harland (Harry Williams); and Dr. Sandra Birch (Frank) Gaazenbeek; and by brother-in-law David (Mary) Birch.   Predeceased by his daughter Nan Millar; and brothers-in-law Lew Philp and Allan MacKendrick. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.  Interment in the Bideford United Church Cemetery. No visiting hours by personal request.  Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Bideford United Church would be appreciated.
