Charlottetown recruiting for revamped Superleague

A revamped and rejuvenated Superleague is being planned for this season at the Charlottetown Curling Club. The draw will be Monday at 6 PM and play will start November 5.

The hope is that they can get eight teams signed up, with round-robin games being played on November 5, 12, 19, 26 and December 3, 10, and 17. At that point they would take a break for the holiday season (and to allow for makeup games) and have playoffs on January 7, 21 and 28.

The cost per team for the league will be $225 with $50 per team going to Larry Richards to come in and prep the ice for each game. Each win in the round robin will be worth $50.

They are in the process of obtaining a sponsor for this league who will hopefully contribute towards the playoff purse. They are also in contact with the Guardian to provide promotion to this league and do a “spotlight piece” on a different team each week during the round robin This will hopefully give teams an opportunity to highlight who their sponsors are and to promote the league and their team.

A meeting will be held October 22 at 6 PM at the Charlottetown Curling Club. Please ensure that at least one member from your team is in attendance at this meeting. If you are unable to make it please let Mitch O’Shea (mitch.m.oshea@gmail.com)  know prior to the 22nd.
