The Nunavut team, which includes PEI’s Alison Griffin, won their opener this afternoon, stealing one in the 10th end for a 4-3 over Quebec at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Sydney NS. This is the first time a team from Nunavut has ever picked up a win in the Scotties main draw.

In other games, BC put 4 on the board in the last end to beat Team NS, which includes PEI’s Erin Carmody, 7-6, while Rachel Homan beat Northern Ontario 6-4, and Alberta (Chelsea Carey) stole the last end to edge Tracy Fleury and Team Manitoba 7-6.
