P.E.I.’s Birt rink in three-way tie for first place in Pool B at Scotties Tournament of Hearts after 2 wins on Monday (Journal)

It was a two-win day for P.E.I. at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Monday

The Suzanne Birt-skipped rink from the Charlottetown Curling Complex improved to 3-1 (won-lost) after wins of 8-6 over Team Canada’s Jennifer Jones (2-2) and 8-4 against the Yukon’s Nicole Baldwin (0-4) at Centre 200 in Sydney, N.S.

Birt, third stone Marie Christianson, second stone Meaghan Hughes and lead Michelle McQuaid enter Tuesday’s play in a three-way tie for first place in Pool B with Kerry Galusha of the Northwest Territories and Casey Scheidegger’s wild-card team from Alberta.
The P.E.I. representative, coached by Mitchell O’Shea, has one game scheduled for Tuesday against New Brunswick’s Andrea Crawford (2-2) at 2:30 p.m.
